In late summer of 2011, Fisher Sand & Gravel Company was awarded an emergency repair job by the North Dakota Department of Transportation. On US Highway 85, south of Watford City, ND, several pipe runs cracked and broke, saturating the soil below the roadway resulting in slides.
Bringing in skilled and competent workers from some of our other locations, we set to work not only repairing, but improving the damaged stretch of road. We eliminated three 300' pipe runs and modified road grading for better drainage. All repairs and modifications were competed with minimal traffic disruption to this heavily traveled road in the heart of booming oil country. Perhaps most impressive is that the project was completed one month ahead of schedule!
