I-11 Boulder City

In October 2014 Fisher Sand & Gravel was awarded Phase I (2.5 miles) of the I-11 bypass around Boulder City by the Nevada DOT and broke ground in May 2015.

The project included the construction of four-lane concrete interstate highway between Silverline Road and Foothill Drive with a full diamond interchange with a loop ramp.

The contract also included the replanting of 20,000 cacti and the installation of 5 miles of tortoise fencing.

A 1,200-foot-long, 28-foot wide, cast-in-place textured, multicolored concrete wall with graphic depicting the construction of the Hoover Dam serves as a visual element to the project.

A pedestrian bridge that connects Henderson’s trail system with the River Mountain Loop Trail.

Phase 1 was completed in May of 2018.

In August 2018, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of the first leg of I-11 which allows motorists to travel south of Boulder City to the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman bypass bridge.

In December 2019, Fisher Sand and Gravel was awarded the American Public Works Association Project of the Year Award (Historical Category) for its work on I-11 Boulder City Phase 1.
